Iran: According to the Iranian health ministry update, till 24th March 2020, the total number of people diagnosed with the coronavirus has reached 24,811, out of whom 1,934 have died in Iran. In order to fight with the covid-19 outbreak the government of Iran is ramping up its health spending, providing additional funding to its Ministry of Health.
Iraq: As of 24 March 2020, according to the Iraq’ Ministry of Health, there are 266 cases confirmed of COVID-19 with total of 23 fatalitiesand 62 patients who have recovered from the Covid-19 virus.The World Health Organization (WHO) in coordination with the governmental counterparts in both the Government of Iraq (GOI) andKurdistan Regional Government (KRG) are intensifying their outreach efforts to stop the spread of covid-19. The government has proposed movement restrictions against mass gatherings and implemented curfews until 1st April 2020 in order to further help stem the spread of the virus.

Israel: On 24th March 2020, the number of confirmed Covid-19cases in Israel has reached 1,656, according to the Israel’s Ministry of Health. Out of 1,656 cases, 31 people are in critical condition and on ventilators, however 1,331 are displaying only mild symptoms, and 41 have recovered from the virus. The Israel’s Ministry of Health has also launched a location-based mobile app called HaMagen, Hebrew for The Shield. The app lets its users know if they have been near verified Covid-19patients. The app uses the phones’ location history over the past 14 days and cross-references it with data from the epidemiological investigations of existing cases to determine if close contact was made.

Jordan: Jordan’s Health Ministry confirmed on 23rd March 2020, 15 new COVID-19 cases in the region, which makes the total number of confirmed infections 127including the case whose recovery had been announced earlier by the ministry. Also, the Jordan’s Food and Drug Administration authorised its healthcare professionals to use hydroxychloroquine along with an antiviral medicine to treat the Covid-19 virus.
Qatar: Ministry of Public Health today announced that the total number of COVID-19 cases in Qatar now stands at 501. Out of which 4 patients have been recovered fully from the virus. The Government of Qatar is taking many steps to contain the spread of coronavirussuch as closing parks and public beaches until further notice. Additionally, since majority of covid-19 cases have been located around the industrial area, outside capital Doha, the area had gone under complete lockdown.
Turkey: Since 23rd March 2020, total of 1236 confirmed cases of covid-19 were reported in the turkey of which 30 people have died of the virus. In order to fight the covid-19, the government had decided large-scale production of Turkish hospital respirators. Additionally, appointment of 32,000 new trained healthcare personnel was also done in the turkey. Moreover, the government had also imported a promising medicine from China to provide quicker relief to confirmed patients of covid-19 virus.
